Ground and heavier backing yarn knitted together; looped inside, medium weight. Because the backing yarn stays off the face, the outer surface remains smooth and print-friendly, while the looped inner layer adds volume and warmth.

Properties

A long seasonal window, good shape retention after washing and a comfortable hand make it the backbone of sweatshirt, tracksuit and short programmes. Cotton-rich blends breathe, polyester content improves dimensional stability and durability, and elastane versions allow closer-fitting patterns.

For two-thread fleece, Tutku Fabric takes on the sourcing side while working with production partners. Once a sample is accepted, a small sewing trial is requested: overlock and coverstitch behaviour, the joins with rib trims and the look after pressing are tested on your own machinery. Feedback from that trial is written into the construction before bulk is opened.

Sourcing and sampling process

Tutku Fabric does not knit; it is a sourcing and marketing partner working with mills experienced in this construction. When your enquiry arrives we settle the target weight, width, composition and end use, send suitable options from existing swatch cards and, where needed, plan a trial knit with the mill.

Weight, width and after-wash measurements are recorded on the sample; the approved sample becomes the written reference for bulk. Checkpoints on the greige knit, after dyeing and before dispatch are followed, and requested physical tests are run by an independent laboratory. Minimums and lead time are set with the mill according to colour count and dyehouse schedule, then confirmed to you in writing.
