Knitted fabric types

This page lists every knitted construction Tutku Fabric sources through its mill network. Each card summarises the typical weight band, usable width range and common composition options; the detail page adds properties, end uses, the sourcing and sampling process and frequently asked questions.

The construction name alone is never enough. The same single jersey becomes a different fabric with another yarn count and stitch density, and interlock and rib knitted from similar yarn still differ in stretch direction and edge behaviour. Read the list from your product outwards: the single-bed jersey family for tees and underwear, rib and cashcorse for collars and cuffs, interlock for babywear and stable basics, the piqué family for polos and corporate wear, two- and three-thread fleece for sweats, and double-bed constructions such as punto and double face for collection pieces.

The ranges shown are typical values. For projects with a different weight, width or composition target we plan a trial knit with our mill partner and assess the result together on the sample. If the construction you need is not listed, we propose alternatives built on similar structures.
