Crepe Knit Knitted Fabric

High-twist yarn or special stitch layout gives a dry hand and fine grainy surface. As twist level and stitch repeat change, the sandy effect on the face becomes more pronounced, and the fabric moves without clinging to the skin.

Properties

Fluid drape and a matt appearance build an elegant silhouette, while the grain hides creases, which helps in travel and heavy daily wear. It is chosen for dresses, blouses, skirts and relaxed shirt-shaped pieces, and it is a comfortable alternative for unlined light jackets and jumpsuits.

Tutku Fabric sources crepe knit with its production partners and starts colour approval with small dyeing trials. Because the dry, grainy face breaks light differently, the same recipe reads one way on a flat ground and another on this crepe, so tones are worked directly on this fabric and assessed separately in daylight and under store lighting. The approved trial becomes the reference for the lot colour.

Working with Tutku Fabric

Sourcing and sampling process

Tutku Fabric does not knit; it is a sourcing and marketing partner working with mills experienced in this construction. When your enquiry arrives we settle the target weight, width, composition and end use, send suitable options from existing swatch cards and, where needed, plan a trial knit with the mill.

Weight, width and after-wash measurements are recorded on the sample; the approved sample becomes the written reference for bulk. Checkpoints on the greige knit, after dyeing and before dispatch are followed, and requested physical tests are run by an independent laboratory. Minimums and lead time are set with the mill according to colour count and dyehouse schedule, then confirmed to you in writing.
